How ANZCO Foods Achieved Unmatched Project Visibility with Real-Time Insights, Risk Management, and Resource Optimization

ANZCO Foods, a New Zealand meat exporter with NZ$1.7B in annual sales and more than 3,000 employees, faced fragmented operations after years of expansion: sites ran independently with separate HR, finance and project processes. As the company centralized functions and invested in IT, automation and asset upgrades, it needed a formal project portfolio management approach to ensure every investment added value in an industry with high asset costs and tight margins. Early trials of Trello and Mavenlink lacked the functionality and visibility ANZCO required.

ANZCO established a centralized Programmes’ Office and, after evaluating options, selected Clarizen for its configurable PPM that supports both Waterfall and Agile. The platform consolidated projects into a single system, automated reporting, and delivered real-time visibility into risks, costs and resource loads—saving project managers time, improving decision-making and increasing project delivery effectiveness. Ongoing vendor partnership and wider adoption continue to grow the platform’s value across the business.
