Case Study: Tegel Projekt GmbH achieves digitalized, efficient building operations and real-time occupancy insights with Planon's IWMS

A Planon Case Study

Preview of the Tegel Projekt GmbH Case Study

Pilot project for integrating Disruptive Technologies sensors to digitally collect data and optimize building operations in combination with Planon’s IWMS

Tegel Projekt GmbH manages the 1,235-acre former Berlin Tegel Airport site—about 60 buildings—with a small property team. Having never used CAFM, the company needed a way to centrally manage assets and operations while preparing the site as a smart-city testbed, so it selected Planon’s IWMS to digitalize facility management and enable pilot IoT projects.

Planon implemented a customized IWMS (28 modules) and integrated Disruptive Technologies’ wireless sensors—62 CO2/temperature, 15 motion and 116 desk-occupancy sensors—via the DT cloud. The rapid deployment delivered dashboards, temperature alerts for legal limits, real-time occupancy data for on‑demand cleaning and desk-use insights, enabling data-driven space, maintenance and energy optimization and allowing the seven-person property team to run the large site more efficiently.
