Case Study: North-West University improves facilities governance and space management with Planon and Vetasi

North-West University streamlines facilities with Planon, covering 12 of 17 DHET MIF elements

North-West University (NWU) needed to improve the governance, delivery model, and processes for its facilities functional area while aligning with the DHET 17 Elements of the Macro Infrastructure Framework. To meet this challenge, NWU selected the vendor Planon and its partner Vetasi to implement Planon's IWMS solution.

Planon and Vetasi implemented the IWMS technology, which satisfied 12 of the 17 required DHET elements. The solution was integrated with several of the university's systems, automating maintenance work order processes and streamlining all space reservation needs into a single platform. According to NWU's Director of Business System Development & Support, the partnership with Planon and Vetasi resulted in a fluent integration project with minimal data or integration issues across all their systems.
