Illinois Institute of Technology reduces work order cycle time with Planon

The Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech) faced challenges with its previous facilities management system, which caused communication delays, miscommunication, and a lack of user confidence. To improve the experience for its community and streamline workflow processes, the university selected and launched Planon's integrated workplace management system (IWMS).

Planon implemented its solution in three phases, rolling it out first to faculty and staff, then to housing students, and finally to all students. The solution provided customized self-service forms and integrated with the university's ERP software. This implementation by Planon significantly reduced work order cycle time, improved communication and transparency, and gave the facilities department the data to make strategic, prioritized decisions. The results included increased reliability and a direct communication mechanism that boosted student satisfaction.
