Case Study: Data4 achieves standardized, digitised asset and maintenance management — cutting corrective actions to under 5% with Planon's Asset & Maintenance Management solution

Data4 implements Planon solution with support of Schneider Electric and CT Activa

Data4 is a major European data centre operator and investor (founded 2006) that designs, builds and operates six campuses across France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland and Spain, with 1 GW of power capacity and a new German campus coming in 2025. Rapid growth and varied country-level tools made it hard to industrialise and standardise asset maintenance and master data, so Data4 needed a scalable, group-level solution to harmonise operations, improve real-time visibility and strengthen customer transparency while relying on an FM service provider.

Working with Schneider Electric and Planon — and using Planon’s Spanish reseller CT Activa for implementation — Data4 deployed Planon’s Asset & Maintenance Management solution (pilot in Spain summer 2022, global rollout completed end of 2022). The project followed Planon standards with minimal customisation, included thorough parameterisation, data loading and training, and created self-sufficient users. Results include faster planning, deeper visibility into tasks, locations and costs, a reduction in corrective actions to under 5%, about 100 active users and ~4,000 work orders handled per month; integration with Data4’s ITSM is planned next.
