Bayer Real Estate “Successful RE and FM with Planon”

Bayer Real Estate (BRE) manages the Bayer Group’s German portfolio of 3,500 properties across 14 sites with a lean team of about 130 RE and FM specialists. Facing the need to maximize efficiency, standardize processes across multiple property companies and integrate with Bayer’s SAP backend, BRE required a central, automated system to unify space, lease, maintenance and procurement workflows.

BRE implemented Planon for Real Estate, Space & Workplace and Maintenance Management as the single operational front end, fully integrated with SAP. CAD-linked space management, barcode-tracked furniture, outsourced maintenance provider interfaces and automated multi‑level purchase approvals have enabled automatic SAP bookings, faster, more secure ordering and fewer administrative errors—improving efficiency, standardization and staff productivity while handling 26,000 technical assets and 20,000 furniture items at scale.
