Case Study: the Intellectual Property Office achieves TMMi Level 4 certification with Planit

A Planit Case Study

Preview of the Intellectual Property Office Case Study

How the IPO in the United Kingdom used our TMMi services and training to benchmark its testing maturity and implement improvements

The Intellectual Property Office, a UK government agency, needed to renew its TMMi Level 3 certification and sought to advance to Level 4 to improve testing efficiency and maturity. They engaged the vendor Planit to provide a TMMi assessment and identify areas for improvement to meet the more rigorous requirements and enhance their overall software testing practices.

Planit conducted an informal TMMi assessment, led process improvement workshops, and provided mentoring and TMMi training to the agency's staff. As a result, the Intellectual Property Office successfully achieved TMMi Level 4 certification. This led to better testing efficiency, more focused reporting on key metrics, and an improved ability to factor risk into both functional and non-functional testing.
