Case Study: RAC Insurance reduces manual testing overhead with Planit’s Tricentis Tosca automation

A Planit Case Study

Preview of the RAC Insurance Case Study

How RAC Insurance reduced its testing overhead with automation to save 1.5 man days of manual testing effort over three releases

RAC Insurance (RACI) was facing a significant challenge with the manual regression testing of its customer-facing B2C web portal. As their delivery cycles became faster and the regression pack grew more complex, the manual process became a major overhead. They engaged the vendor Planit, who recommended and implemented a test automation solution using the Tricentis Tosca tool after a previous internal automation attempt had been unsuccessful.

Planit successfully implemented a Tosca-based automation framework that far exceeded the original scope. Instead of automating 20 test cases, they delivered automation for 66, leveraging the tool's data-driven capabilities. The solution included establishing processes for continuous integration and creating a stable, low-complexity framework that could be operated by non-technical staff. This implementation by Planit resulted in a direct and measurable saving of 1.5 man-days of manual testing effort over just three release cycles.
