Druva, a cloud-based data protection provider, faced fragmented data, ad-hoc spreadsheets and a need for fast, flexible financial and sales modeling as it scaled. CFO Mahesh Patel wanted the agility of cloud data but retained the depth and familiarity of desktop Excel, so a fully cloud-only modeling approach was not acceptable.

Druva implemented Host Analytics Modeling, which links cloud data to a familiar Excel interface and supports high dimensionality for scenario analysis. The solution—rolled out for finance (six months) and sales planning (two months)—enabled iterative what‑if modeling (quota carving, headcount/OPEX impacts), faster decision cycles and more accurate, tested forecasts.
