Case Study: Worthington Cylinders achieves streamlined project planning and faster decisions with Planforge (formerly ONEPOINT)

A Planforge (formerly ONEPOINT) Case Study

Preview of the Worthington Cylinders Case Study

A worldwide leading vendor of high-pressure steel vessels optimizes project planning, improves project communication, and increases information quality for decisions

Worthington Cylinders, a global leader in high‑pressure steel vessels with a 350‑person plant and €90M in sales, faced fragmented project management: a legacy Access/Visual Basic system that couldn’t support Six Sigma processes, growing data volume, complex personnel roles, and poor integration across the project life cycle. To address this, they evaluated and selected Planforge (formerly ONEPOINT) and its ONEPOINT Projects software as a server‑based standard solution.

Planforge (formerly ONEPOINT) deployed ONEPOINT Projects in January 2009 (10 project manager licenses and 20 contributor accounts), integrating it with the existing IT landscape (including a Novell eDirectory connector added to the product). The pipeline, Gantt, trend bars and resource views delivered faster, more transparent planning and communication, universal user acceptance, web‑based access to up‑to‑date project data, better resource utilization and a considerable reduction in project risk—shortening decision times and lowering costs.
