Hawaii Family Dental Relies on Denticon Pay for Secure Payments

Hawaii Family Dental, a DSO founded in 1986 with 15 locations and more than 60 doctors, was struggling with an outdated, non‑integrated payment system that hurt the patient and staff experience. Separate credit‑card machines required receipts to be manually re‑entered, limited payment options (no tap-to-pay, Apple/Google Pay), and created heavy PCI compliance burdens. The network had been using Planet DDS’s Denticon practice management platform since 2009 and sought a modern, integrated payment solution.

Planet DDS implemented Denticon Pay (alongside cloud imaging with Apteryx) to centralize payments and secure patient data. The integrated Denticon Pay solution enabled contactless and mobile payments, 835 auto payment posting, centralized reporting across all 15 offices, and P2PE/PCI validation—cutting the PCI questionnaire from hundreds of questions to fewer than 40 and saving about 1–2 minutes per payment process. As a result, Hawaii Family Dental reduced errors and compliance burden, improved patient convenience and security, and gained scalable, real‑time financial reporting through Planet DDS.
