Video Walls Create One Of The Most Unique Retail Experiences In The World

Gucci, the Milan-based luxury retailer, wanted to transform its flagship store experience with high-impact digital signage to better engage customers, replace aging plasma screens, and drive sales and brand loyalty. Working with partner OOOii, Gucci selected Planar Systems’ Clarity Matrix LCD video wall solution to deliver a new, immersive in-store presentation that would showcase fashion imagery and interactive content across multiple floors.

Planar Systems installed 50 Clarity Matrix displays configured into eight video walls (MX46 and MX55 models) with ultra-slim 3.5" depth, 5.7–7.3 mm seams, 1920×1080 resolution, 700-nit brightness and up to 3500:1 contrast, plus ERO glass (improving contrast by over 300%), fan-less operation and a 50,000-hour life. The result is an interactive, larger-than-life shopping experience—shoppers can cue items from tablets to nearly 20‑sq‑ft screens—and Gucci reports the solution enhances brand differentiation and is expected to be a strong driver of sales; Planar Systems’ technology delivered the visual quality and reliability the store required.
