Veterans Memorial Coliseum sought to modernize its center‑hung scoreboard to better serve its nearly 13,000‑seat audience and boost the facility’s marketability for hockey, sports tournaments, concerts and other events. Planar Systems (a Leyard company) was engaged to provide the Leyard uEV Series LED solution—specifically the 4mm Leyard uEV4—to replace outdated low‑resolution displays and deliver a higher‑quality, more engaging fan experience.

Planar Systems installed cabinet‑based Leyard uEV4 video walls (each cabinet module forming 16' x 9' displays with 433,200 pixels and a 1460 x 720P output) that deliver Full HD video, live replays, fan‑cam shots and sponsor content. The cabinet design with magnetized modules and reduced cooling fans simplified installation and maintenance, extended expected lifespan to 10–15 years, and provided local engineering support—resulting in noticeably improved image uniformity and clarity and a stronger, more marketable venue offering.
