The University of Charleston renovated its main-campus gym into a $16.5 million Innovation Center to serve intercollegiate athletics and student recreation, and needed a high-impact audio-visual environment for gatherings and live sporting events. To meet that need the university partnered with Planar Systems, deploying Planar’s Clarity Matrix LCD video wall solution.

Planar Systems supplied two Clarity Matrix video walls—a six-wide-by-one array at the entrance and a 3×3 centerpiece in the atrium entertainment hub—and used remote quad power modules so the thin, flush-mounted displays could be powered from an equipment rack about 100 feet away. The Planar Systems installation has elevated the fan and student experience with superior image quality, and the walls are now used to broadcast live sports and relay campus information.
