Case Study: SmartPixel achieves immersive multi-touch 3-D experiences with Planar Systems

SmartPixel, a Montreal-based developer of multi-touch and immersive 3-D applications, needed a way to more effectively demonstrate complex designs and engage prospective clients. To meet that challenge they partnered with Planar Systems (a Leyard company), deploying Planar Systems’ Clarity Matrix G3 LCD Video Wall System and Clarity Matrix MultiTouch alongside Planar EP Touch 4K displays in an 8x1 and 4x1 video wall configuration and several 50" and 58" Planar EP Touch units.

Planar Systems’ solution delivered ultra-slim, nearly seamless tiled visuals, Ultra HD 4K image quality and highly responsive multi-touch performance (up to 32 touch points), enabling collaborative demos where users drag and interact with content in real time between the touch table and wall. The installation created a high‑tech showroom “wow factor,” improved interactive demonstrations and reliability, and—per SmartPixel—benefited from Planar Systems’ strong tech support, training and installation across multiple projects.
