A Planar Systems Case Study
Cristin Tierney Gallery in New York City needed a way to present Yorgo Alexopoulos’s new‑media exhibition "Transmigrations" that preserved the aesthetics of digital art while allowing unconventional layouts and deliberate negative space. To meet that challenge the gallery engaged Planar Systems and selected the Planar Mosaic architectural video wall and Planar Mosaic Project Designer software to deliver high picture quality and a cutting‑edge look.
Planar Systems implemented a Planar Mosaic installation using 24 of the 46‑inch Mosaic LCD tiles arranged in four separate groupings, mounted with the Mosaic Mount and managed by Planar Mosaic Project Designer. The solution’s auto‑scaling, easy color/contrast menus and off‑board electronics enabled rapid content assignment and calibration (minutes versus hours), flexible non‑contiguous layouts, rock‑solid operation and fast installation—resulting in a flawless, visually striking exhibit that enhanced the gallery’s reputation and realized the artist’s vision.
