Planar LED Video Wall Welcomes and Educates Capitol Visitors

The United States Capitol Visitor Center needed a durable, high‑quality digital signage solution to welcome, educate and inform guests in Emancipation Hall while fitting existing millwork and remaining readable under the space’s massive skylights. Planar Systems provided the Planar DirectLight LED Video Wall to address those challenges.

Planar Systems’ solution—installed as two 7×2 arrays with a 2.5 mm pixel pitch (72 sq ft total) and integrated by partner LED3—uses low‑reflectance panels, black resin LEDs and Planar MicroGrid Shader to deliver high contrast and bright, easily readable content even in direct sunlight. The system features front‑serviceability, Planar EasyAlign mounting, off‑board electronics, 24x7 reliability, 19 watts per sq ft power consumption and a typical lifetime of 100,000 hours to half brightness, improving visitor communication while lowering total cost of ownership.
