Planar Displays Create Unique Interactive Experiences For Viking Fans

Minnesota Vikings Football wanted to create immersive, interactive fan experiences at U.S. Bank Stadium to deepen engagement and give fans new reasons to visit. To achieve this, they worked with Planar Systems to deploy a range of display technologies — including Planar LookThru Transparent OLED displays, Planar PS Series touch displays, and Planar Simplicity Series LCDs — as part of the Vikings Voyage experiential space.

Planar Systems supplied displays across seven interactive areas (e.g., two 55" LookThru OLEDs in the “Battle Armor” exhibit, 46" and 70" Planar PS Series touch and scoreboard screens for “Speed Prevails,” and three 43" Simplicity Series screens in “Lore of the North”), integrated with RFID, VR and social‑sharing features. The result is high‑impact, multitouch interactives that let fans virtually run drills, catch passes, compare performance to Vikings players and share results — boosting onsite engagement while providing measurable interaction data (RFID activations, game scores and social tags) though no attendance or revenue figures were reported. Planar Systems’ reliable, bright, 24x7 displays were cited as key to the experience.
