OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) needed a durable, high-impact digital signage solution to recognize donors and better engage shoppers in its retail store while meeting the demands of a busy museum environment and architectural/ADA constraints. To accomplish this, OMSI turned to Planar Systems and its UltraRes Series displays to deliver the image quality and reliability required for revenue-driving donor recognition and promotional content.

Planar Systems installed two 84-inch Planar UltraRes Series UR8450-3D displays (native 3840×2160 4K) in the donor wall and retail areas, offering multi-source quadrant viewing, stunning image fidelity (450 nits, 1600:1 contrast, up to 10-bit color), and museum-ready features like a slim ADA-compliant profile, fan-less design, and serviceable kick-stand. The Planar Systems solution elevated visual storytelling to motivate donors and shoppers, supporting OMSI’s goals to drive revenue and community support while providing a reliable 24x7-capable display platform.
