Oklahoma City Thunder faced the challenge of modernizing Chesapeake Energy Arena as part of a more than $100 million renovation, replacing static back‑lit signage with dynamic digital displays to better engage fans and sponsors. They turned to Planar Systems, deploying the Clarity Matrix LCD Video Wall System (MX46) and EasyAxis mounting to upgrade signage throughout the venue.

Planar Systems installed 163 Planar displays in tileable configurations (including 3x1 and 4x1 arrays with a 7.3 mm seam) to create bright, high‑definition canvases (1366×768 resolution, 700 nits, 3000:1 contrast). The solution increased fan engagement and sponsorship visibility, offered message sequencing and flexibility, and delivered measurable benefits — 50,000‑hour display life, front/rear service access via EasyAxis, easier maintenance, and a strong return on the public funds used for the renovation.
