Northern California Home Entertainment partnered with Planar Systems to replace a conventional projection solution with a high-performance media wall for a large dining and entertainment space. The residence presented challenges including large window expanses and uncontrolled ambient light, plus a desire for a virtually seamless, high-resolution digital canvas to serve as both entertainment and digital art; Planar’s DirectLight LED Video Wall System was chosen to meet those requirements.

Planar Systems installed a 21 ft × 11 ft Planar DirectLight video wall made up of 192 1.6 mm-pitch modules with adjustable 900–1,200 nit brightness, Planar® EasyAlign mounting, DirectLight control software and a Clarity™ Visual Control Station for processing; the system uses 22 distributed power supplies and is just over four inches deep. The result is a virtually seamless, 4K-capable display that performs in high ambient light, delivers stunning images even below 50% brightness, and provides the homeowner with the ambience and visual fidelity they wanted.
