newsy expanded its live Chicago operation in 2019 and faced the challenge of upgrading on‑camera presentation and storytelling within a constrained studio footprint. To add depth, a sense of place and flexible on‑set visuals without overwhelming the set, newsy turned to Planar Systems, deploying Leyard TVF Series fine‑pitch LED video walls for Studio A.

Planar Systems installed two Leyard TVF Series (TVF1.8) LED video walls—a 12' x 5.5' (6x5) array and a 6' x 5.5' (3x5) array with 1.8mm pixel pitch and a sub‑3" profile with front servicing—used as a virtual newsroom backdrop and a changing Chicago skyline behind the anchor. The installation delivered richer storytelling and a subtle, polished look for live and pre‑taped programming, with newsy praising the panels’ color reproduction and image quality; the deployment also met studio space and maintenance needs while boosting the network’s live production capabilities.
