Mississippi State University wanted a leading-edge digital signage solution for the two-story lobby of its new South Hall residence hall that would serve as an advanced communications tool, entertainment screen and “hip” gathering point for students. To meet visibility, image quality and maintenance requirements, the university selected Planar Systems and its Planar Clarity™ Matrix LCD Video Wall System for the space.

Planar Systems installed a 4x4 array of sixteen 46" Clarity Matrix panels (nearly 120 sq. ft. total) with a 7.3 mm panel gap, 700 nits brightness, 3000:1 contrast and 1366×768 resolution, delivering seamless, high‑quality content visible from both lobby levels. The video wall functions as TV, movie screen, electronic billboard and large-format gaming screen, improving student engagement and campus communications, while Planar’s EasyAxis™ mounting system reduces service time and lowers total cost of ownership.
