A Planar Systems Case Study
Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex needed a powerful, durable display solution for its new Forever Remembered memorial in the Atlantis Exhibit to tell the emotional stories of the Challenger and Columbia missions. Planar Systems was selected to supply Planar Mosaic Architectural Video Wall technology to deliver a visually striking, museum-grade multimedia experience that met the Visitor Complex’s high-traffic, ease-of-service and reliability requirements.
Planar Systems supplied three Planar Mosaic Ultra HD video walls (using Planar Pablo AD46 and Planar Salvador AD22 tiles) that stream a single 4K file per wall, supported by Mosaic Project Designer software, off-board electronics and daisy-chained tiles with Planar ERO optically bonded glass for ruggedness. The installation simplified cabling and maintenance, moved heat/noise to a remote rack room, and enabled consistent, high-quality imagery (up to 700 nits, 1920×1080 per AD46, 4000:1 contrast) while reducing content-production time and cost—resulting in a more memorable, serviceable exhibit experience for the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
