Hollywood Theatre partnered with the Port of Portland’s PDX Art program to create a free, 17-seat microcinema at Portland International Airport to entertain travelers and showcase short films from Pacific Northwest filmmakers. To meet the challenge of providing reliable, high-quality signage and playback in a 24x7 public environment, Planar Systems supplied display and media‑playback technology for the project: Planar EP Series 4K LCD displays and a Planar ContentSmart Media Player.

Planar Systems donated two Planar EP Series Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) displays mounted at the theater entrance as movie-poster previews and a Planar ContentSmart Media Player to power the displays and drive content on the theater screen, with built‑in scheduling and 8GB storage. The installation enabled a continuously open, 17-seat cinema that advertises films and delivers immersive 4K imagery with commercial‑grade reliability, improving the traveler experience and promoting Hollywood Theatre programming at the airport.
