Grupo Iusacell, Mexico’s third-largest wireless carrier in 2011 with about 5 million customers and plans to double that base, needed a reliable, high-performance monitoring solution in its Mexico City Network Operation Center to maintain service quality across 3,000 cellular sites. To replace aging, maintenance-intensive displays and support rapid growth, Grupo Iusacell selected Planar Systems’ Planar Clarity LED Series (Clarity c70HD-LED) video wall technology for control-room monitoring.

Planar Systems supplied a 40-panel Clarity LED rear-projection video wall that increased monitoring density (allowing ~50 technicians in the same space vs. ~30 previously), improved image clarity (1920 x 1080, 675 lumens, <1 mm mullions, 1650:1 contrast), and cut operating costs — eliminating frequent lamp replacements, extending display life to ~60,000 hours, and reducing power consumption by 25%.
