EPB (Electric Power Board), the municipal utility serving 170,000 customers in Hamilton County, TN, needed greater real-time visibility into its 100% fiber‑optic network and thousands of SCADA sensors to prevent outages and manage grid performance from its Chattanooga control center. To meet that challenge, EPB worked with Planar Systems to deploy the Clarity Matrix Video Wall (MX55HDU with G2 Architecture) and the Clarity VCS video wall processor to display high‑resolution operational data.

Planar Systems installed a 10x4 primary and 4x3 secondary Clarity Matrix array with EasyAxis mounting and off‑board electronics, giving operators scalable, full‑wall views of any of the network’s more than 2,000 data points. The solution improved operator productivity and situational awareness, enabling faster detection and mitigation of issues, reduced heat generation by up to 25% (lowering cooling costs and extending component life), and delivered Full HD, 800‑nit, 10‑bit image quality to help ensure reliable service for EPB’s customers.
