A Planar Systems Case Study
The Center of Architecture in New York needed to integrate digital media into its galleries to create an interactive, immersive exhibit about seismic design that would both educate professionals and engage the public while blending with the venue’s architecture and standing up to heavy public use. To meet this challenge the Center of Architecture engaged Planar Systems to supply Planar® Helium™ and Planar® Simplicity™ Series displays for the Considering the Quake: Seismic Design on the Edge exhibit.
Planar Systems installed two 32-inch Planar Simplicity (SL3250) displays and a 24-inch Planar Helium (PCT2485), delivering edge‑lit LED/LCD image quality, commercial‑grade durability, USB/network playback with dynamic scheduling and multi‑touch interactivity (up to 10 touchpoints). The solution enabled hands‑on exploration of building behavior in earthquakes, allowed the Center to present and update large amounts of content easily, and increased visitor engagement, awareness and the exhibit’s educational impact while meeting demanding public‑space performance requirements.
