Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport engaged Planar Systems to provide a striking visual centerpiece for its renovated terminal. The airport needed an engaging way to celebrate Alabama history and connect travelers to local culture, so Planar Systems supplied a Planar Mosaic video wall to deliver immersive, site-specific storytelling.

Planar Systems installed a 27-tile Planar Mosaic array that blends archival and contemporary footage of marches, migration and movement into a camellia-shaped kaleidoscope—created in collaboration with the CAUSE COLLECTIVE. The installation provides a measurable, permanent focal point (27 tiles) that transforms the concourse into an immersive public artwork, enhancing passenger experience and reinforcing the airport’s cultural identity.
