Mercadona synchronizes 3,000 ovens with Plain Concepts

Mercadona, one of Spain's largest supermarket chains, faced the challenge of modernizing its enterprise architecture away from legacy systems. Plain Concepts worked closely with Mercadona to define precise architectural criteria for microservices sizing and event-driven architecture. They implemented new software processes and developed specific solutions, including microservices and batch processes for their takeaway meal system. This resulted in the automatic onboarding of ovens across all stores, centralized hardware control, and seamless recipe synchronization. Plain Concepts helped Mercadona achieve a more agile and efficient software production process with clear metrics to measure quality and effectiveness.
