Heijmans builds digital twins with Plain Concepts for real-time monitoring and safer operations

Plain Concepts partnered with Heijmans, one of Europe's largest construction companies. Heijmans' challenge was to create a digital twin infrastructure for their construction projects. This required connecting physical projects with sensors to create a true virtual representation, collecting all the data in real time, and making it available in the cloud to detect problems and drive improvements.

The solution implemented by Plain Concepts utilized Azure Digital Twins and Azure IoT services to build a robust cloud architecture. This created a spatial graph model of locations and devices, enabling real-time monitoring and email notifications for events. The results included a true-to-life model for safe testing, the ability to predict changes and anticipate problems, improved productivity, and enhanced decision-making for maintenance and investments.
