Bitpanda, a leading European fintech platform, faced the challenge of modernizing its rigid, monolithic onboarding system to support rapid growth and expansion into new markets. To achieve this, they partnered with Plain Concepts to transform their digital onboarding experience and migrate to a scalable microservices architecture, all while ensuring continuous operation for millions of users.

Plain Concepts developed a new modular onboarding webapp using Angular, which could adapt to different countries and regulations, and integrated AB Testing and advanced analytics. They also implemented a team-level automated QA process and refactored the mobile apps. As a result, Bitpanda saw significant performance improvements, such as OAuth endpoints being optimized from 2 seconds down to 0.3 seconds, and gained a flexible, reliable foundation for future growth.
