Case Study: Vancouver School Board gains district-wide community feedback to inform school planning with PlaceSpeak

Vancouver School Board - Customer Case Study

The Vancouver School Board faced potential school closures and needed broad input from parents, staff, teachers and community members to review student programs, facility needs, and schools’ roles in the wider community. To gather informed public feedback the Board launched the "Our Future" website, providing school, program, staffing and facility information and inviting participation via surveys and discussion forums hosted by PlaceSpeak.

PlaceSpeak hosted the engagement (Nov 2011–Feb 2012), running surveys and discussion forums that produced 5,058 unique views, 429 connected participants, 315 survey responses and 40 comments. The feedback collected through PlaceSpeak was used to inform further consultation and decision-making on programs and facilities.
