The Justice Institute of British Columbia needed a participatory 2015–2020 strategic plan that captured community and public safety needs to guide education and training for first responders. Between April and June 2014, the Institute partnered with PlaceSpeak to run an online engagement campaign to gather diverse input from agencies, organizations and individuals.

PlaceSpeak hosted weekly polls, discussion forums and surveys to surface community concerns and training priorities, resulting in 1,637 unique views, 126 connected participants, 11 comments and 141 survey responses. Using this data, PlaceSpeak helped ensure the JIBC’s strategic plan reflected the issues identified by communities and stakeholders.
