Government of Yukon - Customer Case Study

The Government of Yukon needed public input to address safety, congestion and multi-use trail improvements along the Whitehorse Corridor of the Alaska Highway as the City of Whitehorse grew. On behalf of the Yukon Government, engineering firm CH2M used PlaceSpeak’s public engagement platform and geo-referenced tools to collect targeted feedback across ten corridor segments during the March–May 2015 consultation.

PlaceSpeak enabled an interactive map, 3D aerial animations and surveys that let residents and stakeholders explore segment-specific proposals and submit location-based responses. The engagement generated 263 connected participants, 3,432 unique views and 222 survey responses; participant feedback helped shape the final corridor design, work was scheduled to begin in 2016, and the project earned international recognition (including the Exemplary Implementation and Geospatial Excellence awards).
