Case Study: City of New Westminster achieves community-driven transportation insights and influences Pattullo Bridge planning with PlaceSpeak

City of New Westminster - Customer Case Study

The City of New Westminster updated its Master Transportation Plan to guide transportation decisions for the next 25 years and, in Phase 3, needed broad public input on walking, cycling, transit, goods movement, vehicles and options for the Pattullo Bridge. To gather structured community feedback the City used PlaceSpeak’s online engagement platform, employing discussion forums and surveys to reach residents and stakeholders.

PlaceSpeak ran targeted discussion forums and surveys that generated 248 connected participants, 2,603 unique views, 135 survey responses and 43 comments. The insights collected via PlaceSpeak helped shape recommendations for the city’s transportation network, materially influenced TransLink’s decision-making on the Pattullo Bridge, and encouraged greater collaboration between TransLink and the City of New Westminster.
