The City of Dunwoody wanted to secure increased funding for its annual Holiday Lights park event, but anecdotal attendance estimates were too imprecise to justify a larger budget request. The city used Placer.ai foot traffic data to better understand and quantify event attendance.
With Placer.ai, Dunwoody showed that Holiday Lights drew 4x the original attendance estimate and more than 20,000 attendee visits in 2023, with the event also continuing to grow since launching in 2020. As a result, the City of Dunwoody secured a 10% increase in funding, raising the annual budget to $88,000.
