A Pixvana Case Study
Seabourn Cruise Line faced a significant challenge in training new waitstaff to master the complex layout of its ship's 105-table dining room while it was in constant operation. The existing training method was inefficient, requiring manual setup and taking new staff two to three months to learn the room using a paper map. Partnering with Pixvana, Seabourn sought a VR-based solution to create a more engaging and effective training program called Seabourn TableVision.
Pixvana created a custom VR training solution using its SPIN Studio software and a professional VR camera to shoot high-resolution footage of the dining room. The interactive experience featured toggleable graphic labels and was deployed on Oculus Go headsets, allowing for offline training at sea. The solution eliminated the manual setup time for training and was designed to increase engagement and knowledge retention. While measurable data from a controlled test is still being awaited, Seabourn was highly impressed with the product's quality and Pixvana's professional and efficient team.
