Pixvana and Limbix team up to create virtual reality therapy to educate adolescents about depression

Limbix, a Palo Alto-based healthcare technology company using virtual reality for mental healthcare, wanted a new way to help adolescents understand and overcome depression. To address the rising rates of depression among teens, Limbix partnered with Pixvana to create an interactive VR therapy experience for high school students, using Pixvana’s VR production and storytelling expertise.

Pixvana helped build a high-quality psychoeducational VR experience centered on Growth Mindset Training, combining 8K stereoscopic 360-degree video, ambisonic audio, and four branching storylines created in SPIN Studio. The experience was set to enter a clinical trial at Stony Brook University in January 2019 and be included in the Limbix VR Kit in early 2019, expanding access to teens and clinicians worldwide.
