Nokia and Techlab build a world-first 5G connected cobot with Pixel3

The customer, Nokia and Techlab, were recipients of a federal grant for the Australian 5G Innovation Initiative. Their challenge was to build a private 5G network for industrial research and to develop a world-first application for this technology, specifically a 5G-connected collaborative robot (cobot). They approached the vendor, Pixel3 Video Productions, to produce a case study video showcasing their innovation.

Pixel3 Video Productions created a comprehensive case study video by interviewing key representatives, filming teams at work, and demonstrating the cobot in action. They used graphics to effectively simulate the complex data processing between the 5G network and the cloud. The solution successfully showcased how offloading processing to the 5G network saves power and cost on the cobots themselves. The results demonstrated a world-first application with potential use cases across numerous industries, including drones, driverless cars, and augmented reality.
