Chattahoochee RiverLands launches a 100-mile destination guide with Pixel Parlor

The Chattahoochee RiverLands, an ambitious 100-mile linear park project in Metro Atlanta, needed a web presence that could evolve with the decades-long project. Their challenge was to launch a site that initially inspired community investment and engagement before any trails existed, and then seamlessly transition into a full visitor-facing destination guide as the park came to life. They partnered with Pixel Parlor, which utilized its approach to UX strategy, web design, and development to meet this need.

Pixel Parlor built a mobile-first website that started as a community engagement hub and grew into an interactive destination guide featuring maps, access points, and local amenities. This solution was explicitly cited by partners as key to the public engagement process, which involved nearly 290 stakeholder groups. The site won a 2020 GDUSA American Web Design Award and supports a project that has secured over $49 million in combined funding, guiding the public as trail segments open for nearly one million nearby residents.
