Yamhill Carlton School - Customer Case Study

Yamhill Carlton School, a secondary school in Oregon with a small team of students focused on agriculture projects, wanted to help local farmers by creating drone-based crop analysis and spray maps. As their work evolved, they needed a reliable precision agriculture workflow and software that could handle field imaging and make the data easier to turn into actionable recommendations. Pix4Dfields from Pix4D became the key product in their search for a practical solution.

Pix4D helped Yamhill Carlton School move from struggling with point clouds and GCPs to producing point-and-click spray maps in under 20 minutes. Using a DJI S1000+ UAV and later a Phantom 4 Pro with a MicaSense RedEdge camera, the students successfully flew, processed, and delivered maps for 100-acre and 170-acre grass fields. The project gave students real-world experience in drone engineering and agronomy while supporting the local agricultural community with professional-grade mapping results.
