Case Study: DroneUA achieves season-long crop monitoring insights with Pix4Dfields

Monitoring sunflower and corn throughout the growing season

DroneUA, a precision agriculture company working in Kyiv, Ukraine, needed a better way to monitor sunflower and corn fields through the growing season. They wanted to assess plant stand counts, plan herbicide use, analyze crop growth, and create a flowering stage map, using Pix4D’s PIX4Dfields software and a DJI Phantom 4 Multispectral drone.

Pix4D helped DroneUA process four drone surveys across the season to generate plant counts, weed maps, NDVI-based zonation maps, and flowering stage maps. The results helped identify missing seedlings, optimize herbicide and fertilizer application, and improve harvest planning, delivering faster insights and a stronger ROI while reducing chemical use, fertilizer waste, time, and costs.
