Drone mapping for new bicycle tourism routes in Italy

Studio Dryos, based in Bergamo, Italy, was hired to survey a 2 km stretch of a new bicycle tourism route in Zogno, including a mixed urban and rural corridor with river-adjacent paths, busy roads, and infrastructure obstacles. They needed to verify design plans and monitor construction progress while dealing with urban flight restrictions, pylons, and potential distortions from mountainous terrain.

Using Pix4Dmapper and eMotion with drone and GNSS surveying, Studio Dryos captured 432 images over 1.1 km² and produced orthophotos, a 3D model, DSM, and textured mesh with centimeter-level accuracy. Pix4D’s software helped deliver results quickly—processing took as little as 2h 19m for the point cloud and 2h 00m for the orthomosaic—giving architects the detail needed to identify construction issues and maintain the route efficiently.
