Accurately mapping a landslide to make the right decisions

Georgia National Environmental Agency needed to assess a dangerous fissure that opened on a hillside in Tbilisi, near homes and a road, and they had no initial record of its size or stability. Working with **Pix4D**, the agency used drones and **PIX4Dmapper** to safely capture accurate data and better understand the landslide risk without putting staff in harm’s way.

Using an **eBee X** drone with RTK/PPK support, **Pix4D** helped the team map the site across 2.5 square kilometers with 889 images and 1.6 cm RMS error. The resulting DSM and measurements revealed a 14-meter fissure and about 500,000 cubic meters of displaced land, enabling authorities to evaluate movement, plan protective measures, and later stabilize the site.
