ABZ Drone, a Hungary-based drone specialist and Pix4D reseller, wanted to show farmers how precision agriculture could be applied in real fields and prove the value and ROI of drone-based crop monitoring. Their challenge was to identify field issues, assess plant health, spot possible animal damage, and demonstrate a workflow that could be connected to farm machinery, using PIX4Dfields and multispectral/RGB drone imagery.

Using Pix4D’s PIX4Dfields, ABZ Drone captured and processed 115 images over 4 hectares to create an orthomosaic, VARI index, and zonation map in just 20 minutes. The results were imported into third-party planning software and then into a John Deere tractor’s Trimble autopilot system for prescription treatment, showing a seamless precision-agriculture workflow that helps farmers target inputs more efficiently, reduce costs, and limit environmental impact.
