How TecAlliance optimized their product and improved user experience through analysis of behavioral data

TecAlliance, a 25‑year‑old digital innovator in the automotive aftermarket, faced a critical gap: no behavioral data on how customers use its TecDoc Catalogue, which limited product development and feature prioritization. To address this, TecAlliance engaged Piwik PRO and its analytics platform (including Piwik PRO Analytics and Tag Manager) to collect detailed user interaction and search data across desktop, mobile and web apps.

Using Piwik PRO, TecAlliance deployed tags to capture search keywords, filters and user flows, ordered search histories to distinguish must‑have vs nice‑to‑have criteria, and kept data secure with opt‑out/do‑not‑track and European servers. The insights let TecAlliance optimize the TecDoc Catalogue—speeding up the product, improving responsiveness across devices, guiding suppliers to better product listings, reducing low‑impact development work, and strengthening customer experience and market position.
