Helping The Anne Frank House improve visitor experience and make information more accessible

The Anne Frank House, a top-ten Dutch museum visited by over one million people annually, needed better web analytics after its previous tool was discontinued to support goals like selling tickets, telling Anne Frank’s story, and making content accessible across devices and languages. They chose Piwik PRO and its Piwik PRO Analytics Suite because it’s GDPR-compliant, unsampled, easy for non-experts to use, and offered flexible pricing.

Piwik PRO implemented Analytics and Tag Manager (configured within five days), set up advanced tracking, segmentation by page section, device and language tracking, and clear dashboards to guide decisions. Using Piwik PRO data the museum redesigned the ticket flow (renaming “Buy a ticket” to “Choose a ticket”), yielding dramatic results—English ticket+ visits rose from 230 to 2,388 and Dutch from 38 to 170 in three days—contributing to a reported 1000% increase in tickets+ page visits, higher ticket+ sales, and smarter budget allocation.
