DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, Germany’s air traffic control provider, faced a major recruitment challenge: finding suitably skilled air traffic controller trainees from a large pool of applicants for a lengthy, high‑stakes selection process. Lacking reliable analytics to measure and optimize HR marketing, DFS turned to Piwik PRO and implemented the Piwik PRO Analytics Suite to better understand applicant behaviour and the effectiveness of their campaigns.

Piwik PRO’s Analytics Suite provided custom reports, conversion and drop‑off tracking, and geolocation data that let DFS map applicant journeys, target ads across all 16 German states, and reallocate ad spend to the best channels. As a result, DFS now drives the ~15,000–20,000 weekly website visits needed to sustain applications (6,000–7,000 annually) that are narrowed to about 150 trainees, improves campaign cost‑effectiveness, and runs regular data‑driven HR decisions — all supported by Piwik PRO.
