CivicPlus, a provider of websites and digital services for more than 1,800 public institutions and over 2,000 managed sites, needed scalable, privacy-compliant analytics that integrated with its existing on-premises infrastructure. They engaged Piwik PRO to extend and maintain their self-hosted Piwik analytics (Enterprise plan) so they could add sites and users easily, meet public-sector security requirements, and get clearer performance reporting across many client sites.

Piwik PRO implemented a customized on-premises solution with 24/7 monitoring, regular maintenance, the Metasites plugin for aggregated reporting, and a multi-threaded archiving mechanism. As a result, CivicPlus can handle up to a few million pageviews per day, produce consolidated analytics for 2,000+ sites, and reduced daily data-update time to about 3–4 hours—while keeping all data on their own servers to maintain privacy and faster, more accurate reporting for clients.
